I have been in Brunei just over a year or so after spending a major part of my life and career in Singapore. I followed my husband here and I am in search of work – but our more urgent and prominent search is for meaningful social contacts. Frankly speaking, in Brunei, we have missed the exchange of ordinary niceties, smiles, the casualness in a talk, and the presence of people around. I knew it has to be there, since human contact is a ubiquitous need. From my stay here so far, I know that Bruneians are decent as well as approachable and friendly people.
